WHAT ARE ACRYLIC NAILS, GEL NAILS, PORCELAIN NAILS AND THE DIFFERENCE WITH POLYGEL NAILS?

ACRYLIC NAILS

Acrylic nails are those made with acrylic nail powder (polymer) that mixed with a liquid or solution (monomer) results in a moldable mass, more resistant than the gel nails. Once applied, they last three to four weeks in good condition, if treated with due care not to damage them when doing any activity with the hands.

Acrylic nails can be sculpted (using a nail mold) or applied over a plastic nail tip.

Acrylic nails dry without use a UV lamp.

GEL NAILS

This is a type of resin that must be cured in a UV/LED lamp to dry and harden. They can be sculpted using molds or placed on tip. The next nails post Will be dedicated to the the gel builder nails, which complets this kind of synthetic nails.

PORCELAIN NAILS

Porcelain nails are made of fiberglass applied over a layer of gel, which is cured under a UV lamp and the nail is created. This option can last up to six months. It is resistant, but has the risk that if it were to fracture as a result of a blow, it could cut or damage the natural nail.

POLYGEL NAILS

They are a recent technology, consisting of a mixture of gel and acrylic, which is molded without the need to use monomer but a special solution, with a less intense and more pleasant odor.

This is an excellent option for friends who are just starting in the world of manicure, since this material dries under UV lamp and therefore leaves much more time for molding.

Don’t miss our next post, which will be dedicated to the building gel on details.
